Print job fails half way through

This is a new error following the last MS critical
update. It's is not coincidental as it happens from
various applications to various printers -- PS drivers to
a networked HP 1200 laser, and locally (USB) to Epson
1270. I've seen several posts here about failed print
jobs, but all were unanswered.

This happens when printing from XP, but not from a Win2K
server on the same LAN, so obviously this is XP related.
Both XP included drivers and OEM drivers produce the
error, which appears at varying stages of the print
process, and happens with both large (20MB) and small
(200KB) files.

Comments appreciated -- thanks!!

David,

I'm not aware of any reports of printing problems with any of the recient
security updates. I have a couple questions, have you identified which
security update cause the phenomenon? Can you get the error code out of
your event log for failed jobs? Can you provide a rough outline for setting
up a repro? Does it start working if you roll the patch off?

This might be a good canidate for calling in to product support. We have
lots of techniques for troubleshooting this kind of problem, a little too
involved to get serious with over usenet..
