1. open the report in design view.
2. click file->page setup. the page setup dialog appears.
3. on the page setup dialog click the page tab.
4. click landscape.
5. click ok to close the page setup dialog box.
6. save the report.
the report will always preview/print in landscape mode -
unless the user overrides it (which is unlikely).

If you are using Access 2000 this is a known bug and is
documented in the Microsoft Knowledgebase article:

And specifically: Q240826 'Lost Printer Settings when
Name Autocorrect is turned on'
Turn off the Name AutoCorrect feature as a temporary 'fix'.
You do this by opening the general tab in the tools >
options menu and click off all the three boxes in the auto
correct.
Then download and install the applicable Service Release
1/1a.
