How do you do this? It isn't obvious.

I have the printer apart to clean the waste tank and I wanted to check
the print head but I couldn't see any obvious way to remove it.

You remove it the opposite way you installed it.

Not helpful. I installed it several years ago an don't recall the
procedure. I think it snapped or locked into something in the carriage
and I am reluctant to just try to pull it out!

You do not need to recall anything. Just download the installation manual
from Canon and read it backwards.

YOU WILL FIND MANY IMBECILES IN THIS NEWSGROUP SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU FOLLOW
SOME OF THESE RELIGIOUS FANATICS. Be weary of the refillers who buy crap
for low prices and then tout they are better than what the mfg produces
after they engineered and designed the unit to work with a certain ink
formula.

Even a sopped clock is right twice a day. Don't think this little
episode removed the permanent tattoo of "village idiot" from your
forehead. All Robert has to do is read the never ending string of crap
you post here to know you are our village idiot.
