I posted this in another thread and got no responses. Maybe someone here can
help.
I have two Dell computers using Windows XP Professional attached to two Dell
printers using a USB port. The two computers are on a Windows 2000 Domain
Server network and I don't want to use the Print Server function. I want to
share the printer on one computer with the other computer. Computer A with
Printer Aand Computer B with Printer B. I want to share Printer B with
Computer A. The printers show up when I click on "Add a Printer" and they
can apparently connect. When I send a print (job) from Computer A it is
listed in the Printer B print Queue with the total print size listed but only
about 4 bytes of data are recieved. The only way to remove the print job
from the queue is to restart the computer. Then the entire print job is
printed.
Why can't I send a complete print to the printer and then get it to print
the job? Is there some way to print the "stuck" job without restarting the
computer? There is a Firewall but it is on the Gateway and not on the
computers. How do I share the printers?
help.
