print color with hp710c

Hi, I have a hp710c and I am working with winXP, I dont use too much
this printer but now i need it and there are a problem. I want print
some pages whit letters in black and some pictures in color but when I
send my document to the printer then the pictur is in color but
letters are in blue. What Can I do? Is a driver problem?

Unless you intended it to print with Blue text then you have not any black
ink

First, thanks about your time, the problem is that when I am printing
some page with black text and a color picture, then, if i use high
quality then all is perfect but if i use low quality then text is not
black ifnot blue. Then I dont know if it is a driver's problem, or is
a problem of muy printer.

Under XP, W2000 etc. HP have not provided proper updated drivers
to allow you to print as you wish with their older printers unless you
choose B&W in the options then the colour cart is used( hence your
blue tinge), there is no option and you cannot get the crisp blacks in
mixed pages (there is absolutely no way around this problem) that
were available under W98 etc.with the proper original drivers.
Dont buy HP again - eventually they will get the message or go bust!!
