I have a desktop machine that is running win2K, and a
laptop that is running win 98, today.
Yesterday they were both running win 98 and communicated
thru a router and shared files with no problems at all.
In other words they all played happily in the sandbox.
Then I upgraded the desktop machine to win2K, this machne
is also the one which has the scanner and printer hooked
to it.
Now I cannot save files from the laptop to the desktop,
nor can I access my printer from the laptop. I can
however pull files from the laptop to the desktop, but
only by using the desktop. When trying to save files to
the desktop I am being prompted for a password for access
to the desktop, although at no time during the upgrade did
I tell windows that I wanted this to happen and I cannot
find anywhere on the win2k machine to disable this
function. The samething happens when I try to connect
with the printer from the laptop.
Can someone please shed some light on this?
