I have created a command button to print a form (to the default printer) and
the form doesn't get printed due to the form is prefixed as Usys.
Message:
Microsoft Access can't find the form "UsysMyform" you referenced in the
Object name argument

When I check the "system objects" on the Tool-Options-View, then I can print
when I click the Command Button. However I don't want the users to view any
objects in the data base Objects, is there a way I can print such kind of
form.

I would appreciate if anybody helps.

best regards,
Karen

Well, it's unusual to print forms at all: that's what reports are for.

What code are you using to try and print the form? (And are you sure you
haven't misspelled the name of the form?)

Thanks for the prompt reply.
No, I haven't misspelled the name. It prints only if I have checked the
"systems Objects", if it's not checked (blank), then it doesn't work.

Thanks for the tip, Susan. I just tried this method. It's the same result.
It didn't print when it's hidden, only printed when I checked the Hidden
Objects to view.
Reason I prefixed all the objects as Usys, so it wouldn't display when the
users work on the DB and I don't have to go for extra work to hide all the
objects in my DB.

Presumably Access won't allow the users to print the object (form) if it's
hidden.
I will go for Doug's suggestion to create a report from it.
Yet if there is such a way, I would be glad to know the solution for
improving my knowledge.

thanks all the help from everybody...

Interesting - I have hidden reports that print fine, never tried printing a
form directly. On the other hand, is there some reason not to hide the
database window at startup - saving the trouble of hiding the individual
items?

That's a good point. I think I have to look for a better way rather than
printing a hidden form. thanks again, Karen

Hi again Karen,

Weird - I made 2 new forms in a test DB, FormHideMe is hidden and has a
label and a button "PrintMe". Form1 has a button to open FormHideMe , and a
button to print FormHideMe. Changed options to not show hidden objects, and
sure enough FormHideMe is not visible. Both buttons on Form1 work fine, as
does the PrintMe button on FormHideMe. Not sure why you are seeing different
behavior, unless its Access versions? I'm running 2000...
