I've always used a black & white printer but recently I got a Canon MP560
color printer.

How can I make it print color pages in black & white?

Surely there must be an option in the Printer Properties but I can't see
it!

Canon provides a ton of documentation with their printers and online.

Here's a page with access to a 16 meg onscreen helpfile

http://snipr.com/urcj6 PIXMA MP560 - High-Performance Wireless Photo
All-In-One with 2.0" LCD- MP560 series On-screen Manual (Windows 7/7
x64/Vista/Vista64/XP/XP x64/2000) mp560sosmwin110us.exe

That printer has a lot of features besides b&w vs color printing. You
should probably review a number of manual pages.

Open it and look inside. If you've a dedicated reservoir that looks
charcoal black, often largest among variances of up to six containers,
you've likely acquired a featured printer model;- effectively, then,
by doubling a correspondence mode for better judging whether by
admixtures of primaries -- red and blue, (more correctly transposed
into cyan and magenta -- green being a pseudo primary, among WSIWYG
approximations) -- would appear suspiciously akin to an offset of
brown, baser offerings among economical printers provide.

I tried this one time on my MP 780. I am told that when you print in
black and white that this still caused the printer to use color ink.
They use colors to print different shades of gray.

They mainly do it though because they want to sell you ink at 20 x the
price of oil.
