Two days ago several machines on our Windows 2000 network started to display
this error:
"the system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's computer
account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is
incorrect"
The error message appears when these machines try to log into the domain.
Any account, even the domain admin account displays this error when trying to
log into the domain.
I have found that rejoining the computer into the domain fixes the problem.
However, we have two problems.
1) You have to log on locally to rejoin it to the domain. We do not have the
passwords to some local admin accounts.
2) This fixes the problem, but it is spreading.
Anyone know a way to fix it without having to logon locally for those
machines that we do not have passwords for? Also, can someone help me fix the
problem on the domain so that is does not happen again?
Thank you.........
