Hey,
We've got a simple network here using Active Directory running on 2k.
We are extending the network to another section of the building,
essentially to a different company, so what seems the best course of
action is to create a child domain for that section to use, there will
be a couple of shares that need to be visible to both, but the majority
should be isolated to each of the domains.
Being utterly new to Active Domain I need some advice, we'll likely get
this done by someone more in the know, but I'd like to know roughly what
to expect. The main question I have is if it's possible to have the
master domain and child domain running on the same physical server.
The other is if a folder has "everyone" permissions, will they be
accessible by both domains (I wouldn't want that to be the case).
Also, suggestions for good reading material to get me up to speed
quickly would be welcome.
I realise these are very simplistic questions and very much appreciate
any useful comments,
Thanks a million,
Ethan.
