Have not yet received the CD, but have some questions.

Would I be allowed to modify the original CD and included the latest
versions of all freeware?
Just a thought

You can do anything you want to do, of course.

But, I think the 'readme.txt' included in the CD would constitute a
license agreement-
"You may make copies of this CD and distribute them to others."

Please don't change the contents of the CD.

The checksum file on the Pricelessware site lets people verify that the
copy of the PL2004 CD that they have hasn't been tampered with.

If you change the CD and creat a new checksum file it won't match the
checksum file on the Pricelessware site. If you don't change the
checksum file it will be invalid.

There's another problem. If you add newer versions of programs they
won't match the versions shown on the PL HTML pages that are included on
the CD.

There are probably other problems that I haven't thought of. . . :)

If changes were allowed then it would only be time before someone
added (a) freeware program(s) that were not allowed to be distributed
that way. Giving everyone here "bad press" if found out.

IMO any additions/deletions changes should either not be done, or
be done on a separate CD from the Pricelessware one.

Just have to accept the fact that people can do whatever they
want with the CD once they have it. Once the CD is in thier
hands they have all the control. It's a trivial thing to alter
the contents of the CD. You could even make new cheksums or even
remove them and any reference to them from the CD. Add and
remove programs. I doubt people will change it but there is
nothing to stop them if they want to.
