Price continuum Graph

I remember vaguely seeing something like this being
discussed here, but I no longer recall the details.

What I'm trying to graph from worksheet data is a price
continuum chart, which is essentially a single graduated
vertical line (like a stand-alone Y Axis) showing prices
of competing products. Let's say that the data looks
something like this:

Product A: $5 per gallon
Product B: $7.50 per gallon
Product C: $11 per gallon
Product D: $15 per gallon, etc

I want to show the price tickmarks along the vertical
line, with the Product label next to each tickmark.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You could enter a set of data with zero for all the X values, and the
prices for the Y values. Put the product name in another column. Use the
X and Y values to make an XY Scatter chart. Double click on the X axis,
select the Patterns tab, and click on None everywhere you see it. This
hides the axis. Double click on the plot area, and format it into
oblivion (no border, no fill). Use a labeling utility to apply the
product names to the points as data labels. Two such utilities are:

Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler, http://appspro.com
John Walkenbach's Chart Tools, http://j-walk.com

Both are free, easy to install, and easy to use.
