Prevx home edition has been released and I am trying it out. It's an
intrusion prevention system. I haven't had the time to test much of it's
functionality out. Has anyone else tried this product?

Never heard of it before. Checking out their website, it's full of marketing hype, but
quite low on technical detail, of what the product actually does.

A quote from https://www.prevx.com/prevxenterprise/technology/technology.htm
where I'd expect to find some info on how it works. Instead you find the following ...

Lot's claims, some info on how it doesn't work, but none on how it does. Whoever wrote
the hype needs to learn, that making claims of complete protection, without any info
to backup how it works, is usually a sign of snake oil.

I'd be very cautious about trying the product, on anything other then a test computer,
and then, only with a good set of tools, to see if it includes any spyware, or other malware.

Hmm... Well you know what marketeers are like... It does registry
monitoring, and file monitoring and checks for stack overflows, monitors for
BHO installations. I haven't got around to (ahem) reverse engineering it yet
though. It appears to be spyware free infact I am quite sure the company is
top board.

i felt it was more trouble than it was worth at this stage.
might be for home use, but if u have auto updates on they fail to work.. you
have to apply things manually
