Might be a really stupid question. How do I disable the preview pane. I went
through all the ordinary places for this option to be.

Also, is there a possibility to have multiple identies on the same server
(which also change the from field and name).

Thanks in advance!

View | Layout | unselect Preview Pane.

Windows Mail doesn't have "Identities", like Outlook Express did. You can
have all the email accounts you like under your windows logon, but they will
come into your inbox. If you like, you can set rules to sort them into
different email folders. But is is not necessary.

If someone else is using the computer and you want separate email accounts,
make another windows logon for them and set up their email within their own
logon. That way it will be private to them.

Thanks for the info re disabling preview pane. (That was my question.) The
reason I am concerned about the preview pane is that it effectively opens the
e-mail, even those I don't want to open. Should I be concerned about this?
Or, is it a non-issue?
Thank you.

Its a non-issue, but its annoying to have to open all that spam, so if its
clearly spam, you can disable the preview pane and then delete all the junk,
and then re-enable it.

I just got a new Dell w/Vista, trying to navigate. I belong to 3 different
list serves, important, all under different identities in O/E, now these are
extremely busy lists, so do I have to have all my list mail coming to one
email address? I am confused. It was easy w/O/E I would log onto the email
addy I created. Sorry if I seem not understanding, but I am not receiving
mail from 2 of my lists. I have no clue what I am doing.........Boston Blues

You can add multiple email accounts via Tools | Accounts | Add | Mail. Then
you can filter on the accounts with message rules that will divert the
messages into individual mail folders depending upon the account. See
http://www.mindspring.com/~oe_oh and the sections on message rules.

Alternatively you might want to take a look at my Windows Mail Identities
program (www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/)
