Previewed and captured video distortion

Do you have to use a fire wire to move video to your computer? I'm using a USB connection.
 
Hi there,

USB 2 is faster than Firewire. Others tell me though that USB 2 is not
designed for continuous throughput at those faster speeds, which if true
renders USB 2 pretty useless in the area of continuous capturing of data.
Makes you wonder what it is good for !!

Andre,

USB works fine with analog devices... digital camcorders typically have
firewire output for digital video, so you need to align your computer device
with the camcorder and use firewire.
