Pls Help me,someone out there! I am very new at this. Everything was ok at first but all of a sudden the picture in the preview screen goes black. When I try to play anything,I have to press the full screen mode and then resize it to small again. And even then the picture comes out huge and I can see a tiny portion out of the whole video. Pls don't laugh if I am such a silly toad for asking and just help me pls....

Hello there,

We will need to know a bit more first...

What does the Movie Maker project contain? If there are any MPeg, JPeg or MP3
files you should convert them to AVI, BMP and WAV respectively.

Have you got the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer?

If in doubt about any of the installation you should take the following steps.

1) Download the latest FULL version of DirectX 9.0b, Windows Media Player 9 and
Movie Maker 2

2) Reboot your system and install DirectX 9.0b

3) Reboot your system and install Windows Media Player 9

4) Reboot your system again and install Movie Maker 2

5) DO NOT at any time during the above steps decide to have a look and see if
that's fixed it yet. Potentially that could set you right back to the beginning

It is very important that you download the full versions of the files mentioned
and that you DO NOT try to install these files over the Internet.

There is a very slim chance that your problem could be caused by something
called a codec. If all of the above fails please visit my website and download
the program Rename Codecs. Make sure to check out the FAQ on the website so
that you understand what it does and how to work it.

I'm having the same trouble... however, I am also not able to convert from the Mpg file I have to avi. TMPGEnc keeps saying unsupported format when I try to open the mpg file I have.

Any idea on what I'm missing and where I can get it?I'm able to play the mpg file in MP9 but unable to open it in TMPGEnc or convert into a movie in MM2.. I get the blank screen with audio in MM2.

Please help
