Please not the following are included as reference
material only and to also show that I have been down this
road for a long time. The latest (August) Critical Update
for Internet Explorer doesn't allow me to preview in Front
Page.
Case ID of this service request is SRX030607600860.
Simon Yao said in the last E-mail: "I have submitted this
issue to my Tech Lead and it will be submitted to proper
channel. Please rest that a service pack will be under
full test before the release."

The case (above) went through many weeks but the problem
was not solved and still isn't. I have FrontPage 2002 and
the Beta Office version FrontPage 2003.

The problem is if I stall the August 2003, Cumulative
Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (822925) and
go to FrontPage (either version) and click on Preview
nothing happens. It will not allow me to preview the page
I am working on.

I have been through all sorts of "do this" and "do that"
things and none worked. Most of them were things Microsoft
asked me to do. I just tried it again think that Simon
Yao's comment might now be applicable, but after
installing it, the program does not allow a preview.

I tried to send E-mail to Microsoft using the Case ID
number but all were returned unanswered and unopened. So I
have no idea what my problem might be.

The only way I can get the program to function again is to
use the Restore feature and go back to before I installed
the Critical Update.

Kathleen:
I just checked the registry and I do not have "Application
Compatibility" listed. So I assume that must be added once
that Service Pack I have trouble with is added. If this is
the case then I will go back and reinstall the problem
service pack and then change the Application Compatibility
in the registry per the article.

It seemed like this must be the way it works.

Have you tried the procedure in this KB article? When
You Click a Hyperlink in FrontPage Preview, the Hyperlink
Does Not Work http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?

Kathleen,
That was it. See my last post. I downloaded the Service
Pack and installed it and that added the Application
Compatibility feature. I followed the directions from
that point referred to in the article and tried Front
Page and it works. Thanks.

I am impressed.

Abraham -

Known problem. It requires a registry addition. I don't have the link to
the KB article but hopefully someone here who does will post it for you
soon.

Craig
