Preview Pane in Layout

I'm recieving alot of virus through e-mail. I am not able
to delete the e-mail with out opening the e-mail becuase
the e-mail is open automaticlly. When I access the
preview pane in the layout folder the preview pane is not
acsecible.
How can I delete the e-mail with out opening it?
The computer has Outlook Express 6
