Hi

we have a (pretty complex) report in Access 2003 which looks different in preview and printed. It happens only when the details lines don't fit on one page. When we print directly (without preview) it prints "wrong". Wenn we do a preview first, it also shows "wrong" in preview but correct when printed

Is there any known issue with this type of problem

TIA
Norbert Meiss

Norbert,

I could be wrong, but I suspect your report employs some code fired by the
On Format / On Print events, which do not always behave the same in both
cases, If this is the case, I'm afarid I have no other suggestion than just
trial and error on the appropriate event to use...
Anybody wiser?

HTH,
Nikos

Hi Norbert,

Thanks for your post. According to your description, I am not quite clear
what the problem is. Do you mean that the report in Access is different in
preview and printed and the details lines in the report don't fit on one
page? Does Nikos' suggestion address your problem?

I would like you to provide the following suggestions so that I can fully
understand what the problem is.

1. Did this problem occur with the other report? In other words, did this
problem report specific?
2. I am not quite clear what the difference of the report between in
preview and printed. I would like you to provide a screen shot to help
describe it. To obtain the screen shot, please refer to [Item 1]

It is hard for us to troubleshoot this problem without fully understanding
problem. Thanks for your understanding.

Also, such issues tend to be complex and take up extensive research time.
I'd like to set your expectations that it may take a while for us to help
you narrow down the problem and we may eventually redirect you to PSS to
continue working with a dedicated Support Professional. If this is
critical, I'd recommend contacting PSS and opening a Support incident
troubleshoot this further. If you need any help in this regard, please let
me know.

Thanks for posting in community.
