Preview Custom animation

In Powerpoint 2003 I was able to view animations by clicking 'Play' on the
Custom Animation pane (same when adding/changing a custom animation). The
line would progress along the timeline as the animations plan.

In Powerpoint 2007, I do the exact same thing but all I get is a screen
flash, the timeline progress line (thin blue vertical) appears and no preview.
 
Probably the effect finishes too fast in PowerPoint 2007. Can you reduce the
Speed of the effect in the "Custom Animation" pane to something like "Very
Slow". Also, make sure its not an Appear Entrance effect. In PowerPoint
2007, there is a "Preview" button first in the "Animations" tab on the
"Ribbon". Clicking the "Preview" button also plays the animations.

I am having the same problem. The time line actually freezes after all the
animations "pop" on when the play button is hit. This is simple text wipes
that work fine in show mode, yet, cannot be previewed regardless of the speed
of the animations.

Any other thoughts?
