I am running XP Pro on a Compac Presaria. I periodically
get one of two messages "the device driver for
the 'conexant 56k ac link modem' is preventing the maching
from entering hibernation" The other message is for the
RAS Async Adapter but the text is the same.

I've gone to the HP driver site and the driver I have is
the same as the one listed (I did a download and installed
it anyway). I don't know what to do for the RAS Async
Adapter.

Is this just another "feature" of XP? The problem does not
occur often, but occasionally.

To Dennis,

I have same exact problem (either on com1 or on conexant) and hav
spent hours with Compaq on phone and chat center....they are absolutel
no help at all.

The only way I can overcome this problem is to disabe th
devices.....this of course is no fix.

I don't know if it is a XP or Compaq problem.

I have a Presario lap top.

If u find solution ....let me know.

Regards,

E
