Home workgroup consists of 4 computers, A -D. Member A is a Win2K Pro
Machine, Members B & C are WinXP Pro machines. Member D is a WinXP Home
machine. When member D gets elected as Master Browser to the workgroup,
Members A-C are unable to retrieve Master Browser information, making
viewing of workgroup members unavailable. In the past when members A-C have
been elected Master Browser, all four members are visible. Member A has the
ability to use the BROWSTAT.EXE command.
To solve this situation, I would like to exclude Member D from the Master
Browser election process.
How do I go about EXCLUDING Member D from the election process?
Is there some other process available that will allow ALL members to see
workgroup members if Member D gets elected Master Browser at some future
date?
Can the BROWSTAT command be used to force members A-C to be elected to
Master Browser?
Any tips, suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
