Is ther a way to prevent IE from maintaining the typed URL history from
session to session. I was able to do this on one computer but I have no
recollection of how I did it.

I would rather it did not keep track and not have to clear it.

I searched briefly for an answer for IE6, but didn't find it. I do
know that a small, free browser that uses the IE6 engine called Slim
Browser will let you clear a number of things on exit—history being
one of them. The browser has "tabs" for tabbed browsing and a variety
of other nice options. I've been using Slim Browser as my default
browser for several years and I love it. The only problem I've had is
sometimes getting pages to print correctly, although I have a feeling
that's an IE issue, and not directly related to Slim Browser. Check it
out (see link below). It will install in its own directory and not
interfere with IE6 in any way. It will import your IE favorites on
installation, also. If you choose to set it as the default browser,
there is an option to do so.
