Preventing task manager & Help in Citrix!!!

In a Citrix environment, a user can launch an app and then
press F1 to bring up the screen that allows you to run
Task manager, Start/Shutdown the box, etc. For some
reason, this isn't part of the wrapper of the Citrix
environment to prevent this. How do you prevent this from
happening?

Another common thing is to get into an app's online help
and then do a File/Open, browsing all files!

We have already used the NoRun policy on the LOCAL_MACHINE
to prevent some of this type of "breakout" from the apps
(typing C: in the Location area of a browser, for example).

But how do I do the above? Anyone???

Thanks!!!

Mike

Hi Mike.

If you have not tried it look into using Group Policy which is best done for users in
a domain/OU but can be done on a local machine via gpedit.msc. In particular look at
the various settings under user configuration/administrative templates. For instance
under system/logon&logoff you can disable Task Manger for a user. --- Steve

Thanks guys. I am currently implementing the GPO option
for now. Kind of wierd for example, typing in C: drive
in the Location of a browser based app launched from
Citrix can "break out" of the app so easily. You'd think
the security surrounding a Citrix-delivered app would be a
part of the Citrix "wrapper". Oh well! :) Thanks
again.
