Preventing Open or Save Message from Displaying

I recently deployed Adobe Reader 8 to users at my location. The installation
was successful except that the users do not like the open or save this file
message that displays when they open a .pdf on a webpage.

I have informed them that unchecking the box ,always ask before displaying
this type of file type, will prevent the file from opening again. However,
they are not satisified with that response.

Is it possible to prevent that message from appearing totally but stop it
only for .pdf files?

So far, I have not located any information that shows me how to do this. If
it is not possible, does anyone know where I can get some documentation that
I can supply management on why it is not possible?

Thank you for any assistance.

This is not normally a problem, you can set a default action for the .pdf
file type.

Nevertheless there is a second option, and that is in the Acrobat settings,
to check "View PDF in Browser" - in this case the document will be displayed
as if it were a webpage. Personally I dislike this arrangement.. but it might
suit your users if they want a minimum-hassle arrangement.

The latter will only work for browsers which were present when Acrobat was
installed, as it requires the setup program to put a plugin into the
browser's folder.
