They can't use it to change anything on your site, because they won't have the user name and
password.

In Internet Explorer, one can select File - Edit with Microsoft Office
Frontpage. Is it possible to prevent that on my web site ?

I know. It's just that if a competitor wants to make a similar web site to
mine, he can edit it in Frontpage and have half of the work done.
For example, on this web page titled "Discussions Groups Home", the option
"Edit with Microsoft Office Frontpage" don't exist because probably Microsoft
don't want its page to be copied.

Jacques.
It makes no difference.
If a visitor wants to copy your content, all they have to do is open the page in a browser
and then click File > Save as > Web page, and then edit what they want in FP or other
editor.

The bottom line is, if it's on the web it can be copied.

The idea is to make your site so outstandingly excellent, so characteristic
of your work, that nobody would have the cojones to do that.

They can do that anyway. And not just in FP, there are programs and browsers
that allow you to download complete sites.

Not a big deal though really...

Hi Jacques,

As Steve and Murray pointed out..it can still be had. There's many ways to
get at HTML pages and images in a web site. FrontPage can also do a new
web.. with an import..capturing much of what is there. (Except server side
coding like .asp) Many other programs out there as well can do it.

Even if you could prevent the "Edit With Frontpage" (which depends on the
user having Frontpage....), there are other ways to copy the site.

File > Save As does a good job - downloads everything that a page uses -
images, scripts, html files etc.

Oooo - a page with a single huge hotspotted image, and millions of keyword
meta tags? Like that? 8)
