prevent messenger from running

Hi,

In windows XP I can change a registry key for preventing Messenger from
running - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Messenger\Client\PreventRun=1

I didn't find this key in windows 2000. Is there any other place where I can
do the same or something similar ?

You can disable the messenger service and stop it.
Set Start to 4 using tip 324 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com

net stop messenger
