How would I prevent users from entering into Design view,
so that I may protect the look of the form?

Thanks,
Martin

Make an MDE from it. You can do this in Access 97 & later. It does not need
the database to be "split". Remember to keep a backup copy of the MDB. >>>
You can not recreate the MDB, from the MDE <<<

You're right - it doesn't need to be split, but it does
make things a lot easier if you're going to make MDEs -
particularly if you forsee changes in the user interface
and/or table structure.

If this isn't done, it can be a pain having to import all
of the data back in to the old MDB and then make changes
and create the new MDE.

Usually it's best to split in this scenario IME.

Yes, I do agree with what you say.

But think of where the OP is coming from. He asked a fairly simple question:
how can he protect his design. IMO, he needed a fairly simple answer:
generate an MDE. Splitting the db is not a simple procedure for people new
to Access. Now they need to understand linked tables, & how to relink them
when the file locations change. This is significantly more complicated than
clicking some buttons to get an MDE.

My thought process was, that it would be easier for the OP to learn about
MDEs first, then discover db splitting later :-)
