Thanks.

General recommendation for cleaning up most of those problems is Ad-Aware.
In extreme cases, you might want to use some of the more powerful
anti-spyware programs, though my experiences have made me cautious about
recommending them to inexperienced users (which is how you sound in your
post).

My specific recommendation would be to never again visit any Web site that
does anything like that. Privacy-violating Web sites are like a plague and
should be avoided for the same reasons. (Okay, metaphor straining exercises
completed for the day.)

You can also adjust your security settings in IE, or use a different
browser. For example, you can make Opera or Mozilla your default browser and
be safe from most browser-based attacks, since it is rare for those people
to target any other browsers (and since those non-IE browsers are
intrinsically more secure). After you have decided that a particular Web
site is "safe" and requires IE, then you can still use IE in the specific
case.

Thanks for your kindly recommendations. I have installed an ad-ware software, and it alerts the default page is being changed but not removing the unintended program. Do you know the way to remove it manually by editing the registry or any good shareware
