Hi.

How can I prevent account from being locked out (like the
administrator) even if there is a security policy set on
Windows 2000 standalone server (after 3 bad attempts)?

Thanks.

Thanks.

But I meant another account than the administrator... ;o)

Administrator should never be able to get locked out unless you lock
it out manually.

All users on a computer are affected by the lockout policy except "the"
local administrator that can not be locked out of interactive logon. You may
want to enable auditing of logon events to view attempts that are happeneing
in your Event Viewer security log. Failed attempts from the local lan should
show a computer name. You may also want to raise your threshold to at least
ten and make sure that a firewall is properly configured to block such
attempts from the internet. Not all failed attempts are necessarily
malicious. -- Steve
