This is really bugging (ha ha!) me... Whenever I press
enter/return in Internet Explorer, the window
deactivates. This makes inputting data really irritating
as I have to keep reclicking on the window to reactivate
it. Any ideas anyone?

Tab doesn't have the return/EOL functionality... If I
press <enter> now to put in a new line, the window is
greyed out.

Right-click on the Task bar icon (instead of clicking on it) and list
its active menu items. Chances are the Minimize item will be greyed
(indicating that the window is minimized.)

It sounds as it you have some malware which is minimizing the window
in response to an Enter. To try to avoid the problem turn off scripting.
Also check the Accessibility options to see if you have an unexpected
User Style Sheet in effect (e.g. may be added by malware.)

To try to eliminate it do any of the scans that you will see others advocate.

If you need more help provide more details.

Good luck
