When using presenter view to show a slideshow the panel which shows what the
audience sees always remains black (blank). I have tried updating video
drivers but always the same problem. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Which panel are you talking about? Do you use a video projector?

Many thanks for the replies. I use a variety of flat panels/projectors as a
secondary display and I was referring to the top left panel on presenter view
being blank on the primary display (i.e. the display that the operator sees).

It does seem to be a graphics hardware acceleration issue as. whilst I
cannot scale back the acceleration (this option is greyed out in the
troubleshoot display settings tab), unchecking the "use hardware graphics
acceleration" box in powerpoint does solve the problem. I presume this will
adversely affect transitions/video playback however?

I have the latest nVidia 8600M GT drivers which Dell supply - is there a
known issue with this card/a way to re-enable the hardware acceleration
without the problem reoccurring?

Many thanks again for any assistance anyone can suggest.

Hi

I'm not too technical, but my experience is that the tick box within
PowerPoint for hardware acceleration has no noticeable effect on performance
(particularly of video - maybe as PowerPoint itself doesn't play the
video?). Maybe one of the AV gurus will step in....
