Jesse,
If you change the extension of the file from ppt to pps, double clicking the
file will open it as a show instead of in edit mode. (Assuming, of course,
that you have PPT installed.)

Save the file as a PPS file.

Fie -> SaveAs, then change PowerPoint Presentation
(*.PPT) to PowerPoint Slideshow (*.pps). When you double
click on the file icon it will automatically open the
file as a presentation.
