I have a couple of presentations that worked great with Powerpoint 2002, 2003 BETA, ppviewer97, and the new viewer. (One presentation was for use with the old viewer on CD's, and the other presentation is a 'Beefed-Up' version for use with the new viewer on CD's.) For some reason, the new viewer won't play the video parts, the old viewer can't even read the old presentation, and PowerPoint 2003 locks up and has to close when it gets to a part where video is supposed to play.
The problem appears to be with something on my computer OTHER than the PowerPoint programs because the files will play fine on other computers. (I have even reinstalled Office completely but no change.) Any idea what my problem might be?
Thanks, Brian

This sounds serious. <G> Maybe we should start with some details on the
system:

1. Version of Windows?

2. Which versions of PowerPoint are currently installed?

3. If you have both PowerPoint 2002 and 2003, did you install 2002 first?

4. Are you still testing with the Beta versions of PowerPoint 2003 and the
PowerPoint 2003 Viewer, or are you using the versions released to market?
This is important, because if you are using the Beta versions we probably
won't be able to help.

5. What message, if any, do you get from PowerPoint 97 Viewer, PowerPoint
2003 Viewer and PowerPoint 2003?

6. Does the presentation play okay on your system in PowerPoint 2002?

7. When testing on other systems, are you using the exact same files or a
copy of them? This is important in case you have a corrupt copy that you
are testing on your system.

8. When you say that the old viewer can't even read the old presentation,
what happens when you try to open it in PowerPoint 97 Viewer?

9. What versions of PowerPoint are you testing with on the other systems?
