When giving a PP presentation the presentation sometimes, not always,
stops and a error box says it 'cannot find.......'

It always seems to do it when I am giving the presentation so, I am so
keen to get back to presentation, that I do not have time (or are too
flustered) to write down the error info. I have to reboot the coputer
and restart the whole presentation

It never does it when I am testing it extensively. It always seems to
ocurr after a long stop on a slide when questions are being asked.

Could it be I have used a picture from the internet and imported a
hyperlink? If so how do I find it?

I have gone through all the pictures and cannot see any that have any
hyperlinks mentioned when I right click on any picture and bring up
'hyperlink' where applicable.

Can anyone help?

Further to my above posting I think the error message is this:

"The
: server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned
an
: unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application."

Doesnt always happen

Thanks John,

That led me to what I think was the problem. I produced the
presentation on my main computer and then transferred it to my laptop.
Some of the objects were imported objects and not true embedded MS
objects and, whilst giving presentation on the laptop it was looking
for the server file and of course couldnt find it.

I have gone all through my presentations, clicked on all the objects,
ungrouped them and, if the window came up to ask me if I wanted to
convert it, answered yes and regrouped. Do you think this was the
problem? and should the action I have taken cured it?

Thanks again.

Sounds like a solution to me!

Seriously, the "server application" error usually happens when you're trying
to edit such an object, but ungrouping should definitely resolve it.

I was initially thinking it might be this:
PowerPoint connects to the internet unexpectedly
