Hello,
The company I work for is puttng kiosk's in their
facilities for marketing purposes. They want to have
customers be able to get information and see some brief
demonstration presentations for a few of our products. I
have to create these presentations. I have an idea of
what I want to do but I am unsure of where to begin other
that creating the presentations. I would appreciate any
advice or suggestions for this project; but here's what
I've been thinking about so far:
I want to create a "main page" that would be a full
screen image of our company logo; on the left side I
would like to place buttons that the customer would click
on for "Click here for this product info" etc... I think
this would be flexible since if I have to add any new
presentations I could just add a button and point to the
presentation file. My problem is I don't really know what
I need to do to accomplish my ideas. Also; suppose I need
to update some info for one of the products such as
pricing, how can I make the changes in one location but
have the changes take effect on the PC that is in every
kiosk? Is there a centalized way to do this? Any
suggestions of a good way to accomplish this project or
links pointing to sites that may be helpful will be
greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this rather
lenghty post.

Hi Dave,

regarding the updating question maybe Kurt Dupont will point you to his
product Takeoff Datapoint, which seems suitable for the updating part of
your question.

One idea for the "buttons": Use images of your products as buttons for your
hyperlinks rather than just squares. They visually represent the aim of the
link!

Kind regards,
Ute

Thank you for the reply and for the idea of using the product images. I greatly appreciate it

Thank you Troy for the link to the tutorial site. It seems like a very good site with links to other good sites. Thanks for the reply, I greatly appreciate it

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]
[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PPT 2003
that you just created in PPT 2003? -

Hello,

It sounds that, although there are workarounds, you would like this to be a
lot easier to do in PowerPoint.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
