Presentation Status / Location Bar

In a recent presentation I noticed a clever status bar along the bottom of each slide that actively indicated the current position within presentation, i.e. 10%, 25%, 75%, etc… It was similar to the type of moving status bar that you see when you are downloading data or installing new software, the ones that fill from left (0%) to right (100%). Does anybody know how to add this feature within PowerPoint? I think that it’s a great idea to covey this bit of information to the audience!
Thanks,
-Justin

I am wondering if this is a good idea. If you work from the idea of only one
idea per slide (could have multiple bullets about that point) you may end up
with a large number of slides. Therefore I thinking that the % bar may make
your learner tired and they may spend more time watching that bar instead of
hearing your message. It is because of these same reasons I do not use slide
numbers. Just my humble thoughts. Fay

You could do it manually - add a slide length thin rectangle to the last
slide - take a note of its length dimension in the Format | Autoshape
ddialog box. Divide the length by the number of slides. Remember this
figure.

Copy the bar to each slide backward - and keep reducing the size by the
figure you remembered.

I'm sure someone could do an add-in with this idea - it would be a cool
thing to play with <g>.

Oh. You mean like:

Add a "thermometer" progress bar to each slide

You are certainly nice enough to make an add-in from that for all of us. <g>

Maybe I'll do that as the "How to make an addin" demo at PPT Live.

In the meanwhile ...
