Which version of PowerPoint do you use? Did you open the presentation on the
computer it was created on or on another computer? If another computer,
please check the following:
- Is a standard printer installed?
- Are all used fonts installed?
- Do both computers use the same version of PowerPoint?

Best regards,
Ute

Are you using PPT 2007 to create the file?

I've seen a few reports of this. There's some problem with the combination
of saving as PPT (in PPT 2007) and viewing in the Viewer, but I don't know
exactly what it is. Sometimes round-tripping in 2003 fixes it, if you have
2003 available. Here are round-tripping instrux.

I created it in 2003. And I was viewing the cd on the same computer that I
created the cd on. Is there a "global" font I can use that might keep this
from happening if it is a font issue?

I used 2003 to create the presentation and i used "package to cd" for put the
presentation onto a cd and i am viewing the cd on the same computer that i
created the presentation on. I am very frustrated because the presentation
when i play it from powerpoint on my desk top is great - i am getting these
"type over" letters in my text only on the cd i created...my goal is to use
this presentation as a marketing presentation to send out to potential
customers for them to view on their desk tops and i don't know how to fix it.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Holly

Ah, yeah, that was dumb of me -- the other issue is on my radar, so I jumped
to conclusions!

If you stick with Arial, you'll be in good shape. You may be able to embed
the fonts you used, but really, using Arial/Times New Roman is the best way
to ensure that the file looks as you expect on other systems.

Embedding the font depends on the font licensing. But if you go to File |
Save As, you can choose to embed the fonts on the Tools menu in that Save As
dialog.

I figured it out and wanted to let you all know. It was the animation I had
on each page. The animation schemes were flying through the words and once I
turned off all animation it worked perfectly! Thanks for all of your advice,
I would have scrapped the project if I hadn't had some help

Well, use the feature of Package for CD often has some limitation.

Using the advertised product has limitations, too. But you will have other
problems, for a change.

Ute
