I can no longer see the menu to move around to various slides when I am in
presentation mode. Also the presentations are very slow to end and return to
another mode when I want to stop presentation mode. Any ideas?

Thanks, but I am ust talking normal presenter or "slide show" view. Nothing
special. Nt only is it slow, but the screen stays black for several seconds
when it is moving into and out of slide show view. Any ideas you have would
be gratefully tried!

Glad that you keep trying, but that did ot work either. And I haven't added
anything, at least not that I know of (and I am the only person using this
laptop).

Are you talking about the menu that you get when you right-click on the
slide during slide show? If yes, do the following to ensure that it is
enabled:
1. Select Office button (Alt+F).
2. Click on "PowerPoint Options" button (at the bottom of the menu).
3. Select "Advanced" category in the left pane.
4. Locate the "Slide Show" section.
5. Ensure that "Show menu on right mouse click" is checked.
6. Click OK button.

Now when you start the slide show, you should be able to right-click on the
slide and get that menu.

Hi Pat,

Do you mean the pop up menu during the slideshow - the one you can display
with a right-click?

Maybe this got turned off somehow. If you right-click and it goes back one
slide in slideshow mode then this is what happened.

I'm not a fan of 2007 - much prefer 2003, but I cranked up my test copy of
2007 and to find this option you now need to hit the "Office Button", select
Powerpoint Options, Advanced, and in the Slideshow section make sure the
"Show menu on right mouse click" checkbox is ticked.

Not sure why your PC is sluggish, but it might be unrelated to the menu
problem. When did you last defrag the drive?

Cheers,
Geoff

Just to make you feel better I have the exact same problem on one machine and
I can't find the cause!! 2 secs of black before the show starts then it's OK.
I've zapped addins, tried various printer drivers, played with grahics
accelleration uninstalled things etc but it doesn't go away.

Just to rub it in its a very fast dual core machine with 4Mb of RAM and a
good graphics card and it's slower than our old DELL (128 Mb RAm, processor
by snailsoft, graphics by generic). If you ever get to the bottom of it
please let me know.

Same here. And the mighty Todd Dunn looked at my machine at PptLive so I'm
pretty sure it's not a settings/driver/hardware issue... Only happens with
2007, 2003 is fine. And if I use the right click menu or f1 I get a big black
hole where it was (not that I use it, but it's nice to show people).

Still having the problem (and based on the posts, I am not alone)
Right click is enabled.

Any other suggestions out there?
