Presentation keeps getting larger

Hello all,
I have a powerpoint presentation that grows every time I
save it. At first it just adds a few KBytes but the
addition grows exponentially. A 4MB file can easily
become a 100MB! It only happens on the first save in
every session. Another jump will be if I close the
presentation and open it again. I've ruled out viruses
(by an updated norton) and I've turned off all the
special options in tools->options->save.
Thank you,
Yuval

Start with the following and if, after trying all of the tips, nothing helps,
come back and tell us more about what version of PowerPoint you are using,
what's in your presentation (images, sounds, videos, linked Excel spreadsheets,
etc.):

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

I've checked for the ideas in
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00062.htm,
Thanks, Sonia
None of them seem to be the reason for the growth. All of
them explain the reason the presentation may be large to
begin with, but not why it would grow with no changes or
additions being made. That is, except for the reviewing
of changes. As far as I can see, I'm not using the
reviewing options. Are they on by default? In the
reviewing tool bar non of the keys are lit.

I'm using PPT 2002, with office XP pro on windows XP home.
The presentation is a scientific presentation with many
graphs. It's 70 slides and 4.7 MB. I will be glad to pass
it to you if you want to check the file.
Thanks,
Yuval

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? Are you saving for backward
compatibility with PowerPoint 95?

Did you save the file under a new name after you turned off fast saves?

Try saving you presentation under a new name once you turn off Fast Saves.

I'd be interested to take a look.
Fast Saves is the only thing I know of that would increase file size even
when no changes are made.
