I am giving a presentation to a very tech savvy crowd in 3 weeks!
They have seen every possible PowerPoint presentation known to man.
What can I do to enhance and give a visually stimulating presentation?
Flash will take to long to create. Maybe Photoshop templates?
Any help/web sites would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry bout that!
I work for a Business/Technology college in Westchester County, NY (
www.cw.edu )and we are hosting a Corporate Breakfast for local businesses.
The presentation content should contain information about Corporate
Retraining in Technology and these companies possibly hiring our grads.
We offer degrees/certifications in Networking, Graphic Design, Microsoft
Office XP, Business Management/Marketing.

Thanks Much,

Jack

Okay, I couldn't resist to ask this question:

Your college provides certifications in Microsoft Office XP and you are
asking us for samples/examples? Shouldn't you be asking your students to
come up with something in order to show businesses that they should hire
them? Sorry, not being facetious, just showing my humor!

Most of my stuff relates to training settings. I have some examples of how
Visual Basic can be used to enhance PowerPoint at:

http://www.pttinc.com/power_point.htm#PowerPoint

and

Maybe some others might pipe in with examples as well.

GOOD LUCK!

Just as a design idea - avoid bullets and go with bold graphics and thought
invoking images. Use these as the backdrop to your presentation - support
for what is being said.

From your description of the college you should have all the resources you
need. Call on some of your Graphic Design students to create elements or
montages in Photoshop. If you have a flow chart or other diagram have them
rebuild it and some 'pizzazz.'

Animating key elements can add visual impact and support for the speaker.
This may be a harder item to accomplish, but if you want some ideas there
are a couple of PowerPoint XP "extreme animation" sample presentations on my
website (http://www.tlccreative.com/port_ppt.htm - near the bottom).

Let us know what you come up with!

Here is a thought, worth every penny you have paid for it....

You will be very hard pressed to "blow their tech-savvy socks off" with a 3
week deadline, especially since you do not have a basic design idea yet....
so ... why not show them, instead, what business really needs. Get you
point across with well done medium tech, but use business-savvy class, art,
and designed elegance.

Use the talent you have at the school to create original artwork, logos, or
backgrounds. Design a 'real world' show that will show them why they want
you on their team, instead of some
I-know-every-animation-and-will-make-you-sit-thru-it--twice graduates. Make
the show responsive, to be able to illustrate points on demand with sub
shows that may never get used. Make the show clear. Keep it simple, but do
not make it look simplistic. Seemly flowing from one presentation to the
next will make a better impression than a really cool desk top picture. Be
at the top of your class.

Any chance of tossing an honorary degree towards Pittsburgh?

Thanks for all your input and suggestions!
Sometimes the answer is right in front of me - I just need to see with a
different set of eyes =0) - yours
I will let you know how I make out.
