Can I use my XP disk to reformat my PC? I upgraded from
NT, have XP and would like to sell my PC. Before doing
so, I plan to "reformat" the hard drive to clear out all
personal information/files and provide the buyer with a
clean slate. Will reinstalling XP following the new
installation procedures do this?

If you have or have once had personal information on the system such as
credit card or bank account numbers you should use a utility to securely
wipe the disk. I recommend one called Eraser which you can use to create a
bootable floppy disk that will completely overwrite your hard drive from
DOS. You can get it here: http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/
