preload music

AFAIK, the browser caches music files just like any other files. If you need
a more specific answer, you'll neet to ask a more specific question.

FWIW, I *hate* sites that play music at me. Half the time I don't like the
music, and the other half it drowns out the CD or the TV show I'm already
trying to hear.

Yes,
Using a preload javascript similar to one you would use for preloading images.
However, you will force your visitors to stare at an empty page while the file downloads.

Which imho is "not good."
