My files and folders are all over the place. I was going
to do a system restore using the Recovery CD out of
desperation, however my computer just ejects the disk and
says " remove disk and shut off your computer". I really
did not want to do this anyway if I could avoid it. How
can I fix this without using an XP CD?

I meant to say I was going to do a Factory restore not
system restore. I tried system restore and it did not fix
my problem. Sorry for the confussion
 
What does it mean that your files and folders are "all over the place"?

Note: System Restore has no effect on user files.

My files/folders and even some programs do not open or
run because the path is invalled. Also some programs are
opening more than once causing errors to pop up. At one
time we used different log on names but decided not to
continue...I assume this is part of the problem.
