Prefetching Problem?

I upgraded from Win98 to XP home and since then every
time I open or close any program the computer looks for a
floppy in the a:/ drive. I went through and tried to find
the problem by doing a controlled boot but it didn't
matter which boot or ini system was disabled it still
looked for a floppy. I submitted a request a couple of
days ago through tech support but haven't heard back from
MS.
 
No could not disable. Not one of the options. Currently
have it set to C: CD: A:. Doesn't seem to do it when I
start up XP only when I open any program (like I.E. or
even MSCONFIG).
