Hi
Wow - nearly all of the problems posted in this section seem to come back to that pesky 'Generate Thumbnails' option when installing PS
I came to this newsgroup seeking answers to a problem that started when I reinstalled my whole machine including PS Elements, and John Inzers Magic Uncheck solution (JIMU) worked for me too. However I now have a further query - before I reinstalled everything the default viewing mode for image folders seemed to be thumbnails (not tiles or icons) - which was nice, as you could see at a glance what the directory contained. Now though, every new image directory I open defaults to tiles and I have to go into the views tab to manually change it to thumbnails. My question is this - Is there a way to set up Windows XP so that all image folders default to thumbnails? Please don't tell me that's what I unchecked when I used JIMU.... I'm sure it used to work fine before the reinstall....
