In the IE tools-internet options-programs box, the
calender drop down menu is empty. How do I select Outlook
as my default calender when it is not in the drop down
menu?

Do you have MICROSOFT OUTLOOK or do you have
OUTLOOK EXPRESS? If you only have Express then the
default calendar is not available because Express does not
have a calendar.

OUTLOOK EXPRESS, included as part of Microsoft Internet
Explorer, offers standard Internet e-mail and news access,
required by many home and small-business users.

MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, provides comprehensive integrated e-mail,
including information management and collaboration capabilities,
required by a wide spectrum of users from home to small
business to large enterprise. Outlook has the Calendar and Tasks.

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:

Of course I have Microsoft Outlook - why else would I post
in this newsgroup? With respect, you have made no attempt
to understand or answer the question, which is "In the IE
tools-internet options-programs box, the calender drop
down menu is empty. How do I select Outlook as my default
calender when it is not in the drop down menu?". Another
question would be - is it possible to use the calender in
Microsoft Outlook as the default calender in Internet
Explorer - internet options? Thanks to anybody who tries
to help. Regards, Ant.

The most common reason for this to occur is that Microsoft
Outlook is not installed.

What version of Outlook do you use including the number?
(HELP menu on Outlook and select ABOUT MS OUTLOOK)
What version of IE do you use including the number?
(HELP menu on IE and select ABOUT IE)
What OS system (Windows XP, Windows 98, etc) do you use?
