hi, maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like even at the most close-up display (clicking the + ), I'm only able to put a cut mark on certain areas of the time line, in increments of about a half second. For example, I can drag the cursor over to cut at 48.53, but the next opportunity I get is at 48.60. Then 48.67. The device will not cut on any point other than those
Am I crazy or can MM really not cut right where you want
thank
Erik

Hello Erik,
What you are pointing out is correct. Movie Maker only trims, splits
and/or edits on 1/15 second boundaries.
Best regards,
Chris.

Thanks Chris - is this something that might get better in future revs? Editing is the 3rd of 3 crucial steps in any video work. Not being able to cut where you want is like if MS Word only let you select whole words instead of letters to cut and paste

Hi Erik

MM1 edits in a 30 fps mode. Depending on your needs, you could make your clips that need that degree of precision in MM1 and import the clips into MM2. If that's not convienient or sufficient, then other software might be your only path

Interesting - so the newer version is less precise?
How do I go back to MM1? - and/or switch back n' forth
thanks much
