Pre-Windows 2000 Logon 20 Character Limit

I'm trying to find a way to extend the 20 character limit in the "User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000)" box. I can't seem to find anythiing on the net

I have users with long names and I want them to be able to logon with their full names. They can use the UPN feature fine, even if they have a long name. Any help is appreciated.
 
This is a pre-defined field in an O/S how could you possibly extend the
limits.
