Mark people who read the warning when downloading would have realized... and
If they didnt read it prior to installing then well it sucks to be them.
BETA pretty well stands out for it self , plus the EULA says the same....
yes no one reads that I know... But I have... part of the job
description.... basicly MS says you install this and loose critical data....
Tough Tur*$
It is a devastating realization to those who, thinking they are getting a
free operating system, have upgraded their production machines with no
backups and no recourse to install another operating system. And after read
through the posts all dealing with "you... mean... it expires?" and "How do
I uninstall (sic) Vista?" I have come to the conclusion there are a
plethora. Part of the blame may lie with Microsoft for not ensuring that
those downloading the beta had, at the very least, a rudimentary
understanding of essential skills such as reformatting a disk or diagnosing
a problematic device, but only a small part. In the end, it is the operator
of the computer that must take responsibility for his or her actions.
While I feel some pity for these, as well as others who have downloaded and
installed Vista without properly registering (and thereby no product key), I
also feel that the consequences of their actions will serve as a lesson well
learned. This experience has been traumatic for many, but hopefully
educational, as well. I know I certainly have benefited immensely from the
vast knowledge available from the users of this newsgroup, and have tried to
contribute where my decidedly limited skills may be apropos.
I can confirm this as well. Pre-RC1 expires 5/31/2007.... not that it
matters much since the final release will be out before then.
I also can confirm this.
Hey guys, I have a legit key from Microsoft, and activated, and have it
installed. Does it ever expire? I don't think it does.
